Handling cylindrical or irregular materials requires secure clamping mechanics rather than just balance. Standard forks can be dangerous when moving rolling stock; the Hydraulic Grapple offers a positive locking solution designed to stabilize loads that would otherwise shift. With a compact frame size of 960×820×590 mm, this attachment allows skid steers to navigate tight workshop aisles while maintaining a firm grip on the payload.

In our fabrication workshops, gripping large steel pipes (e.g., 30 cm diameter) demands geometry that wraps around the object. This grapple features a hydraulic upper jaw with a maximum opening angle of 88°, allowing it to fully encompass the top of a pipe or a bundle of scrap. The curved bottom tines cradle the cylinder from below, while the hydraulic cylinder drives the top clamp down, creating a unified 0.4 m³ containment zone that prevents the pipe from rotating or sliding off.

Weighing only 125 kg, this attachment adds minimal deadweight to the loader arm, preserving the machine’s lifting capacity for the actual steel material. By replacing manual rigging or unstable balancing acts with hydraulic control, the operator stays safely inside the cab. This significantly reduces the risk of crush injuries often associated with guiding suspended pipes by hand.
